Conference Poster (pdf)

Dear friends,

I am thrilled and delighted to announce registration is open for TEN Conference 2007. This years conference theme is: Dynamic Transformation – Deliberate Growth.

This theme impacts our community of believers in so many ways and I am so excited about what we are about to see from this conference.  For years many of us have struggled in our ministries without any real support system, lack of leadership teams, maybe just being inadequate ourselves in some of the key areas and roles of the church.

At other times some have felt called by God into ministry, but not had available opportunities to use the gifts and talents afforded them by the Holy Spirit.

And another example that comes to mind is the new work. Those churches, bible studies, cell groups that are just starting out…exploring the possibilities of what God might be birthing in their local community, town or city.

All this without any form of denominational help & support to turn to for guidance, to bounce a question off, or just to sit and listen.  They are challenges we have all faced but not really had any options to help us through.

It is our desire with this conference that we will be laying the ground work that will enable us as individuals & churches & ministries to examine what we are doing, have done, and will do in order to become Highly Effective Churches, Ministries & Christians in our communities.

This conference will be laid out with two tracks in mind and two audiences to draw. Track One will be the Leadership Track. This track will be geared to those in the church who are currently in a leadership role, be that Pastor, Associate Pastor, Minister of Music, Deacons, Elders, etc.

Track Two will be the Personal Track. This track will be geared to those in the church (usually making up the majority of people in a church congregation) who are currently attending the church but not in a Leadership role.

Both tracks will be focusing & sharing the same teachings and trainings, but applying them in different ways, the leadership to their role as leaders in the church and the personal on a more personal/day-to-day level.

We have put together a team of Speakers, Workshop and Conference Facilitators who are of the best & highest caliber around.

I hope that you will join me in the excitement that is in the air and that you will join me in Dallas, May 3-6, 2007 as we together experience the Dynamic Transformation & Deliberate Growth that is about to be birthed in us all!

God Bless You!

Todd Ferrell, President

9:00 am - Noon

This is time for those in leadership in their respective churches to come together for a mini-retreat.  We will start the morning with an exercise to bring everyone together and allow us to look at some things from a different angle.  Additionally, the morning will consist of a review of portions of the book Habits of Highly Effective Churches not covered during the conference.  We will discuss the Six Pillars of Highly Effective Churches, the role of habits in churches, and other key elements from the conference materials.  There will also be a time to share goals and aspirations with the TEN Council and each other.  Take a break from being the one with all the responsibility and join us for a mini-retreat – you will be glad you did.

FACILITATING GENUINE WORSHIP
(Sue Love)

Surveys among regular church-going adults indicate that one-third of those people have never experienced God’s presence.  Half of all regular church-going adults admit that they have not experienced God’s presence at any time during the past year.  Why the ‘disconnect’ between God and believers?  The answers are many and varied:

  • No definition of worship
  • No priority of worship
  • Wrong perceptions about worship
  • Religious Activity Substitutes for Spiritual Relationships
  • Poor sensitivity to God’s presence
  • No desire to confront sin

What is different in highly effective churches?

At the completion of this workshop, the participants will be able to understand the key points regarding:

1.  The need to define true worship

2.  The need for folks to understand worship

3.  The relationship to worship to Christ

4.  The importance of people making a commitment to worship

5.  Worship Services that work

1.  The need to eliminate negative pressure on evangelism

2.  The need to recognize each person’s unique ability and gift

3.  The need to facilitate networking and evangelistic efforts

4.  The importance of matching people and process

5.  The need for folks to commit to discipleship

6.  The role of missions
